Image Metadata Viewer
Inspect the EXIF data hidden inside any photo — camera, lens, GPS location, timestamps and software history. Your image never leaves this device.
Every photo you take carries a hidden payload. This image metadata viewer reads the EXIF, XMP and IPTC blocks embedded in JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, TIFF and AVIF files and lays out every field: camera make and model, lens, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, the exact second the shutter fired — and, on most phone photos, the GPS coordinates of where you were standing.
Unlike most online EXIF viewers, this metadata viewer runs entirely in your browser. The file is parsed locally with JavaScript — nothing is uploaded to any server, which matters when the whole point is checking a photo for sensitive location data. Drop a photo above and the full metadata table appears in about a second.
Photographers use it to verify capture settings, buyers use it to check whether a "original photo" was really taken when the seller claims, and privacy-conscious people use it to see exactly what a photo would reveal before posting it. If you find GPS coordinates or anything else you would rather not share, switch to the photo metadata remover and download a clean copy.
Frequently asked questions
How do I view the metadata of an image?
Drag the image into the viewer above (or click to pick a file). The tool reads the EXIF, XMP and IPTC metadata locally in your browser and shows every field — camera, dates, GPS and more. Nothing is uploaded.
Can I see where a photo was taken?
If the photo still contains GPS EXIF tags (most unedited phone photos do), the viewer shows latitude and longitude and gives you a one-click map link to the exact spot.
Does this work with HEIC photos from iPhone?
Yes — HEIC/HEIF files are parsed directly in the browser, along with JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF and AVIF.
Is it safe to check a private photo here?
Yes. The file is opened with the browser’s FileReader API and parsed with client-side JavaScript. It is never transmitted, stored or logged — you can even load this page and then go offline before dropping the file.
